BEVERLY PEPPER – Ten Monumental Sculptures
An exhibition transforming Washington, D.C. into an open-air museum

Presented by the Washington D.C. New York Avenue Sculpture Committee, in collaboration with the DowntownDC Business Improvement District, James Barron on behalf of the Beverly Pepper Studio LLC, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, BEVERLY PEPPER – Ten Monumental Sculptures will be on view from 18 June 2026 to 1 June 2027.

The exhibition will feature the installation of ten monumental sculptures by Beverly Pepper along New York Avenue in downtown Washington, D.C. This project represents the latest installation and a significant expansion of the historic New York Avenue Sculpture Corridor. The exhibition celebrates Pepper’s pioneering contribution to monumental sculpture and her innovative use of Cor-Ten steel—a material she explored not only for its physical properties but also by continually pushing its structural limits and expressive potential through increasingly dynamic and diverse forms.

In addition to the ten outdoor monumental sculptures, from 24 October 2026 to 25 April 2027, the National Museum of Women in the Arts will present Beverly Pepper: Earthworks, an accompanying exhibition featuring a video installation highlighting the global scope of the artist’s environmental and architectural-scale works, alongside a selection of smaller-scale sculptures and project maquettes.
